23.00 TRADE MAY w/ Lotic, mobilegirl, Dis Fig, LINNÉA & Simon Kaiser @ OHM

WHY: Trade is bringing people, performers and DJs together in a cozy place to stimulate encounter, eye-contact and shoulder-and-other-body-parts-rubbing. Starting this Wednesday, TRADE is going to take place every four weeks all year until November at OHM. The first edition hosts a dream team of Berlin based DJs Lotic, mobilegirl, Dis Fig, LINNÉA & Simon Kaiser. Once a month there is also a TRADE radio show hosted by Berlin Community Radio.

20.00 Polymorphism #17: Tim Hecker, Wolf Eyes, We Will Fail @ Berghain

WHY: Tim Hecker arrives to present his new album, “Love Streams”, which was created while examining ideas such as “liturgical aesthetics after ‘Yeezus’” and the “transcendental voice in the age of auto-tune”, with vocal arrangements by Jóhann Jóhannsson. Wolf Eyes are noise band promising  “pure audio stunn, homemade post-nuclear terror & claustrophobic atmospheres, the most shattered and confusing horrorvision since Bo Diddley dropped the duct taped warhead on all humans in 2024.” We Will Fail is a project by Aleksandra Grünholz; her main focus is rhythm, engendering associations with techno and club music.

20.00 Omar Souleyman @ Kesselhaus

WHY: Omar Souleyman comes to Kesselhaus this May for an exclusive German concert. The Syrian singer, who has made a name for himself in the Western music world with remixes for Björk, has made over 500 records to date – the majority of them gifts for the new couples at the wedding parties he performs. His new record, “Bahdemi Nami”, is co-produced by Modeselektor and was released in 2015 through Monkeytown Records.  The profits of the concert will be donated to the organization "Doctors without Borders" to offer Syrian refugees direct medical care.

WHY: Torstraßen Festival, Powerline Agency and Shameless/Limitless are teaming up for the upcoming festival's warm-up gig, presenting weirdo ripper Seth Bogart (aka Hunx And His Punx) and THE SETH BOGART SHOW. Support comes in the form of Miserable Lesbians, a stoner garage project of 19 year California transplant Lafayette Vanderkin-Jus.

WHY: “Certain People” (in reference to a song by Morrissey) highlights artists outside the pop mainstream, and puts great attention to musical discoveries. Launched in 2011, Certain People is now five years old, and will celebrate accordingly with a two-day mini festival, with three live acts each day; Tourist, Roy Woods & Sau Poler on May 17th, and 18+, Cakes da Killa & Kero Kero Bonito on the 18th.

When she's not with her partner in grime, she's repping the Sick Girls in-yo-face agenda as Kepler.
